Hi, I’m Dale\u2014a lifelong builder with a passion for creating both hardware and software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a decade of building hardware professionally, I decided to pivot in 2022 by attending The Recurse Center<\/a> where I focused full-time on software development<\/a>. Those three months solidified my transition into my new career path<\/a> as a software developer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my home machine shop<\/a> , I focus on designing innovative, life-changing adaptive equipment for people with disabilities. It\u2019s where I feel most inspired, continually exploring new possibilities<\/a> in personal mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among my favorite hardware creations<\/a> outside of work is this transport rack<\/a> for my Bowhead Reach adaptive mountain bike that doubles as a transfer lift. On the software side<\/a> I’m particularly proud of a custom business management system<\/a> I developed for Norma’s Ice Cream<\/a>. This system automates a weekly ice cream lottery complete with text notifications, Square payments, and a dynamic order status tracking dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n
